SKI AREA
Skiing & sun terrace
Your ski vacation at the Schwarzhorn alpine hotel, directly on the slopes, with plenty of skiing fun right at your front door!
Another big plus of spending your winter vacation here and the reason many of guests come back time and time again is the compact and family-friendly size of the Jochgrimm ski resort. With four ski lifts (two tow lifts, two chairlifts) and seven kilometers of slopes, we are among the smaller, family-friendly ski areas. The compact format of this ski area gives you and your children greater safety, and makes the Jochgrimm a family ski resort par excellence. Here, you don’t have to worry about losing track of your children. On the contrary: While relaxing on our sun terrace with a cocktail in your hand and admiring the spectacular sunset, you can keep a constant eye on your children having fun on our beginners’ slope, with its conveyor belt and playground.
The Jochgrimm ski area has slopes with every level of difficulty – from flat pistes for beginners, medium-steep slopes, and the really challenging slopes for practiced skiers: the perfect instructional program for beginners. Yet the most-experts won’t feel left out either!

Gliding over deep snow on high-altitude plains
The Jochgrimm in South Tyrol is both well-known and very popular among cross-country skiers. It is adjacent to the nearby Lavazè cross-country center (3.5 km away) in Trentino – a wonderfully beautiful location for cross-country skiing. Enjoy the fantastic view and admire the Dolomites while you glide over seemingly endless snow-covered courses. Our high-altitude courses (3, 5, and 8 km long) are extremely well-groomed and are open for use until well into spring. They connect with those of the Lavazè center to form an extensive network of courses.

The Hotel Schwarzhorn is situated at the Jochgrimm, a high-altitude pass in the south of South Tyrol, near the border of the neighboring province of Trentino. Nestled between Fleims Valley / Val di Fiemme and the Eggen Valley, it belongs to the community of Aldein / Aldino. Our hotel was named after one of the two impressive mountains it is located between. The Weisshorn / Corno Bianco and the Schwarzhorn / Corno Nero slope gently upward on both sides of the hotel and form a unique backdrop for your alpine holiday with us in South Tyrol. In the wintertime, you’ll find excellent skiing conditions for a marvelous, family-friendly ski vacation in the Jochgrimm ski area in which our hotel is located. And in the summertime, you’ll find hiking trails suitable for children on which you can journey forth and explore this alpine paradise. Hobby sportsmen, pros, and sports teams appreciate the ideal climatic training conditions prevailing at 2,000 meters above sea-level here at the Jochgrimm. They know that the conditions here help enhance physical fitness and boost performance.
